“Casa Panorama Villa!”
My family and I just returned from Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica with my family. By far, this was the best family vacation ever! We stayed at the Casa Panorama Villa and it exceeded my entire families expectations! From the moment we arrived at Manuel Antonio airport, we received first class service. The driver was kind and informative. Our concierge, Kimberly, greeted us at the villa with an open heart and lots of useful information. She set the tone for the rest of our trip. No detail was ignored from the moment we arrived. The evening we arrived, Kim even went to the grocery store to get some of the basics we needed for breakfast the next morning. All of our activities for our stay were set up through Kim. We went zip lining, white water rafting and horseback riding. All of the companies she recommended for the activities were top notch. We had so much fun because we felt safe and well cared for by people who took so much pride in their jobs.
Our family decided to take professional pictures with Sarah on the private beach the day after we arrived. We have yet to receive the pictures but the experience was easy and seamless. My children are ages 4, 6 and 11years old and keeping their attention for a photo shoot is no easy task! Again, this was set up through Kim.
And the monkeys! They were all over the place. Waking up to the monkeys and the exotic birds saying good morning and view of the Pacific Ocean greeting us was just magical. The view was one of the best I have ever experienced and I consider myself a seasoned traveler. This has been the best family vacation we have ever experienced! it was nature’s Disneyland.
Our entire family didn’t want to leave. We will be back next year with a group of friends and their children so we can experience this again.
“Perfect Vacation at Casa Panorama”
Our family just returned from 9 days at Casa Panorama at Tulemar. We could not have asked for a better family vacation. From the beach to the pools to the incredible views from the villa, our trip was absolutely amazing. There was always something to do, and everyone in the family was always thrilled with the options — whether it was swimming in one of the pools, to playing on the beach, to walking through the property spotting monkeys and sloths. Our 7 year old spent countless hours alternating between boogie boarding and searching for hermit crabs. Our 4 year old swam for hours every day — moving from the beach, to the pools, and back to the beach. The entire staff of Tulemar was amazing with our children, and they felt at home throughout our stay.
We found the food at the restaurant by the pool quite good, contrary to some of the other reviews posted. We also took full advantage of the many restaurants close by — Cafe Milagros being a favorite of everyone in the family. Many, many excellent restaurants all within walking distance of Tulemar.
I also must thank our wonderful concierge Kimberly who took care of us from start to finish — from arranging transportation from San Jose to Tulemar, to arranging a number of different activities for our family throughout our stay. The buggy tour led by Don was one of the best tours we have ever been on — one not to be missed. Whether it was zip lining, tours of the national park, visiting an animal rescue center, or looking for a place to eat, Kimberly knew it all and was always available to point us in the right direction.
Start to finish an amazing trip and we hope to be able to return to Costa Rica in the very near future.
We stayed 6 days at Casa Panorama Lower in Tulemar, Manuel Antonio. We would HIGHLY recommend this villa. Not only are you nestled into the hillside with a stunning view of the water, you are perfectly located to all amenities in Tulemar itself. Across the street from the pool, walking distance to the private beach and of course all this is accompanied by a shuttle service if needed- which was very helpful.
This villa comes with a personal concierge Kimberly who was the perfect addition to our stay. She was helpful in any way possible and had a great spirit about her which made everything that much easier. She was helping us from the time we booked, until the time we left- great to work with through travel details, transportation and excursion suggestions.
We are the “lets sit on the beach and do nothing for the first day of vacation, but then we need something else to do” kind of travelers. This location married the two ideals of relaxation and action packed fun.
Most days we got up early and did an excursion (sail fishing, canyoning, national park tour/hike) and were back home in the afternoon to spend the rest of the sunlight sitting on the balcony- which was beautiful. Birds everywhere, sunsets galore and the wildlife at our fingertip. Maybe a trip to the pool, maybe a trip to the beach, possibly an afternoon hike on the beach trails (north beach trail AWESOME!)- whatever we were feeling.
You could be as active as you wanted without ever stepping foot outside of Tulemar (kayaking from the beach, boogie boarding, swimming in the pools, hiking trails and wildlife watching).
Tulemars staff were friendly, helpful, humorous. The facilities were clean and beautiful.
Once you head out the front gates of Tulemar you are surrounded by great restaurants. Very walkable. We even took the local bus into town to the market and enjoyed some local cafes (called sodas).
Again this location is ideal to “do it all” or “not do a thing”- which is why it was a perfect match for us.
Thank you again for an amazing experience- this has been one of our best trips yet. And we WILL be coming back. Pura Vida.
“Perfect Famly Vacation at Casa Panorama at Tulemar”
Our family of 5 stayed at Casa Panorama for a week in late April. We could not have asked for a better experience. The villa was lovely and the views were simply amazing. Sometimes it was hard to tear ourselves away from just sitting on the balcony and looking out over the water. Everything was very clean and housekeeping did a great job. They even did laundry if we wanted! We all loved hanging out at the pretty little private beach. We enjoyed walking down the hill and seeing all the monkeys and even a few sloths, but it was great to have a shuttle back up the big hill at the end of the day. There is a little stand for cold drinks near the beach as well as a hut where you can check out boogie boards or kayaks. The gentleman who works there, David, was particularly wonderful when our 6 year old fell and got a small cut. He fixed her right up and got her laughing right away. The pools were also beautiful and relaxing and it was really nice to be able to eat lunch sitting by the pool while the kids swam. The food wasn’t great but it was good, and every single staff person was friendly and helpful. And when we wanted a better meal, we simply walked right into Manuel Antonio where there were plenty of good restaurants as well as stores to buy our own supplies.
No review of Casa Panorama would be complete without mentioning out fabulous concierge, Kimberly. The beautiful setting and great amenities of the resort would have been enough to make this a wonderful vacation, but Kimberly made sure it was truly special. She was infinitely patient with me in the months before the trip as I emailed question after question. She arranged for our transportation to and from San Jose with excellent drivers who made fun stops along the way to show us the sights. She recommended incredible excursions that were super fun for the whole family and made all the arrangements! Don’t miss the zip-lining adventure or the buggy ride to the waterfall! Kimberly goes on all the trips herself so she knows what she is talking about She gave us very helpful tips on where to eat and drove us to our first big grocery shopping trip. She was always available but never in the least bit intrusive and really went above and beyond. I have to mention one particular act of kindness: Somehow in the scramble to leave Casa Panorama (we had gone to the pool in the morning and waited too long to start packing) we left behind our 6 year olds stuffed animal that she sleeps with every night. When I realized our mistake – back in San Jose – I emailed Kimberly in a panic. She went to the laundry facility, found the stuffed cat wrapped up in the linens, and arranged to have it flown to San Jose and transported to our hotel there with in 24 hours. That’s not just good service – that’s incredible thoughtfulness and generosity.
All in all, the trip was a perfect family adventure. Thank you Kimberly and all the staff at Tulemar! We hope to see you all again!
“Outstanding Vacation Rental”
Our recent stay in Casa Panorama was fantastic! The views, amenities of the house and Tulemar Complex create a wonderful home base for your Costa Rica adventures. The personal service from Kimberly Barron, the house manager, is an added bonus that provides all the expert advice on tours, attractions and restaurants to make your vacation stress-free. The house is located on a hill (great going down; great exercise walking back up) overlooking the cove and Pacific. Wonderful sunsets from the balcony every evening, followed by great restaurants within walking distance. Kimberly can provide recommendations based on your tastes and activity level. If you want part of Costa Rica that provides the true “Tico” experience in a very convenient area–this is the place.
“Heaven on Earth”
This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we could not have enjoyed it more. The people, food and activities are all top notch. It doesn’t hurt that the weather is perfect everyday . Casa Panorama is a lovely unit ( we were in the 1 bedroom lower unit) with a nice balcony with stunning sunset views every night. The small kitchen was well equipped (sufficient for a private chef who used it one night to make us and 4 friends a mind-blowing meal!). The housekeeping staff did a great job and were almost invisible. Of course Kimberly brought the whole thing together and made it a success . She was always available to answer questions, book dining reservations and personally send us off on our excursions.
Not a question of if we come back, but a matter of when. Loved it.
“Casa Panorama and Kimberly Barron”
Our stay at Casa Panarama was spectacular. We wanted to have an action packed trip and it exceeded our every expectation. First, the room. It is a very comfortable room with a very nice kitchen and living room area. Very clean, well appointed. The view- dear lord it was amazing. We sat on the porch every day in disbelief of how gorgous it was. Over all, very nice place and very comfortable. Next the property: Amazing beach with a great little beach bar. Free boogie boards, kayaks, chairs, umbrellas. Two great infinity pools. Tons of wildlife. Saw monkeys, exotic birds, plants, etc every day. Also walking distance to the best restaurants.
Finally, and most importantly- this room came with a personal concierge- Kimberly Barron. Kimberly is the most enthusiastic, energetic, and thorough concierge i have ever delt with. She helped us plan every piece of our trip, made sure we found the right shuttles, personally picked us up from the quepos airport. Anything we wanted at all she made it happen. There isn’t enuogh I can say about her attentiveness to our needs and knowledge of the country, property, and even last minute requests. Truly a professional and took a special trip and make it spectacular.
“Incredible, that’s what it was”
The Staff was terrific, the units, were large, clean, and had incredible views of the ocean, and Jungles.
Lots of monkey’s on the property and Bill was very, very
The A/C worked, and we had a full kitchen. I’ve been to CR many times and this was close to the best experience we’ve had.
“Best Vacation Ever!”
Where do I start? This was the most fun vacation my family has been on. We are so fond of Hawaii we go each year. This vacation topped it! The Casa Panorama South was gorgeous! Breath taking views all around! The house is beautifully decorated! Kimberly our house manager was the best! She helped us with anything and everything from booking excursions, to taking us to the grocery, and helping order our take out. On my 13yr olds birthday, she surprised him with a delicious cake in the fridge! We couldn’t have asked for anything more! The resort staff was excellent as well. The monkeys, sloths, beach, pools, food all made for an awesome vacation. We are counting the days till our next trip here! Also, the Segways are a must do at this location!
Well worth the money. Breathtaking views. Clean, best location – central. Monkeys on the balcony. Kimberly made our stay truly outstanding. She is the nicest person and a real professional. Without her it would certainly not be the same.
I wanted to surprise my wife for her birthday and staying at Casa Panorama could not have been any better. The sunsets every night were spectacular. Kimberly Barron our concierge was fantastic. She made sure that everything we needed or wanted to do worked out. Pictures of this place do it no justice. It is absolutely beautiful. Great restaurants are walking distance and the people are so friendly. You have to experience it to believe it.
“Casa Panorama-Pura Vida!”
My husband and I along with another couple stayed in Casa Panorama (upper) in Tulemar from august 10-17th. We enjoyed our accommodations as much as we enjoyed everything else about our trip. Kimberly, the concierge, made us feel comfortable and welcome even before we left home. She took us to the market once we arrived and booked our excursions through out the week. If we had a question, Kimberly was always a phone call away to provide us with an answer. The house was clean (thanks to excellent maid service) and well stocked. We had everything that we needed during our stay. The pictures on the website don’t do the views from Casa Panorama justice! The views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding land areas are absolutely amazing! One of our favorite things to do was watch the sunsets. If conditions are right, the sunsets are outstanding! We went on several excursions. I would highly recommend MidWorld for the canopy zip-line and aTV tours. We used amigos del Rio for white water rafting. They were awesome, too. Manuel antonio National Park is a “must do” as well. The wildlife and plant life in the park is worth seeing. However, you will see wildlife and plant life on the resort trails and on any adventures that you book, too. Tulemar’s location is very convenient. Many restaurants are within walking distance once you take the shuttle to the top of the hill. Our favorite restaurants were Barba Roja and Victoria’s which is right across the street from Tulemar. The food at El avion is good, too. If you are american and a Baby Boomer like us, you will enjoy the history behind the airplane at this restaurant (Iran-Contra affair).
Tulemar is a beautiful, gated and secure resort area.
If you want to stay at a place that provides you with the feeling that you are in Costa Rica and not just any typical resort hotel (Marriott, etc.), then Tulemar is perfect choice! It will be a decision that you will not regret!
“Beautiful home, and Kimberley is the best!”
Our family spent a wonderful week at Casa Panorama. Kimberley was an amazing concierge – she helped us plan before we arrived, arranged transport from the airport, arranged wonderful tours, was there at pickup for every tour, took us to the grocery store, answered all our questions, and even brought us a fruit basket from her own yard! The house is beautiful, with amazing views, and it is fully equipped. Monkeys on the deck! The beach is nearby, lovely and private. We had a fabulous vacation!
“Pura Vida – Idyllic!”
Oh my goodness! What an amazing property that the photos couldn’t possibly ever do justice to! We were assisted by Kimberey every step of the way through our booking from Canada. She took care of all the details 6 months before we ever touched down in Costa Rica. We were warmly greeted and she kindly gave us a thorough tour of the property, drove us through the town to point out her favorite restos/cafés, and then generously offered to take us to the market in her van so we could get some supplies (as she pointed out, you must collect your own coffee for the week – our recommendation – café milagro’s). The views from the upper balcony are out of the world! I happily did yoga on it one day while overlooking the bay and watching my husband and friends jetski down below. The 2nd floor balcony has a hot (cool) tub that we enjoyed quite a few times. The views are also stunning and conveniently off the master bedroom. The free kayaks, bodyboards and towels were much appreciated. The staff is incredibly friendly – always helpful and smiling. We enjoyed supper at El Typico – food was good but view at sunset was better! We also went to Café Milagro’s a few times – for breakfast, nighttime drinks, live music, etc. We ended up bringing 2 bags of coffee home – should have brought more!
Kimberley arranged for our jetski trip and for the surf lesson. The surf was phenomenal!!! Early pick-up and a great 1:2 ratio for learning. We had antonio (Banderas) as our instructor and James from Florida as our driver. Great duo! I couldn’t stop smiling!
What an amazing experience! We’ll be back! Pura Vida!
“Casa Panorama came through on all counts”
Great sleep: really comfortable beds and ventilation (breeze) options. Great kitchen: lacked for nothing. We prefer to grocery shop and cook in where we travel so it was lunch out and dinner in every night. Fantastic concierge: Kimberly Barron is a pro. Tons of pre-trip help via email on all the little things (“so on the toll booths on the main highway, here’s the payment methods they’ll take… here’s a good lunch spot for where you’ll be…”). She checked in on us to make sure all well; she discerned that as an English/Spanish speaking family we might be interested in certain places or experiences and helped set them up. And she made it clear that she’s up at dawn and early to bed every day but we could call any time. The cleaning crew was great, re-setting the beds and a spotless kitchen every day. (Having lived in the tropics elsewhere and putting all food in the refrigerator in those places we never saw a single bug.) The house was so nice and comfortable that it was an interesting reminder that you’re in a National Park wildlife area when we saw a little scorpion amble on by one day. (So if you leave your shoes outside, do check them.) In summary, the house was comfortable and high-standard, the views were panoramic and stunning and I would recommend to friends.
“Best Vacation Yet!”
My 25-yr-old daughter summed it up best, “Best Vacation Yet! How are we gonna top this?” The home was comfortable and well-appointed and immaculate. Kimberly Barron, the house manager, was friendly, helpful and intuitive to our needs and wants. She made our stay flawless. The views from our balconies were indeed panoramic. Monkeys, a sloth, a toucan and various other wildlife were right outside our balconies. The whole Tulemar community is beautiful. There are several good restaurants within walking distance. Our favorite was Cafe Milagro.
“Fantastic place in Tulemar”
My wife and I plus two teens stayed for a week in March. We rented the top two levels of Casa Panorama. Great place with fabulous views and plenty of room for all of us. Full kitchen and large living area, plus two decks. One night we had a chef come in to do dinner – it was excellent. Bonus was the white faced monkeys that came by our place a few times to play on the deck and peek through the windows into the living room. Kimberly is the concierge for Casa Panorama. She was great – very helpful when you need something, buts hands off when you don’t. Perfect.
We stayed in Tulemar a couple of years ago. Didn’t rent a car then, but did rent a car this time. A car is not necessary, but I felt that it gave us more options – going out to dinner, driving to Dominical, etc.
What an amazing view from Casa Panorama! The sunsets everyday into the Pacific Ocean are amazing. The frequent trips from the squirrel and white faced monkeys right to your balcony are memories that will last forever. The inside of Casa Panorama upper is beautiful with all of the amenities of home. Very spacious and also great views throughout. The hikes down to the beach are a lot of fun and great exercise. They are steep and Tulemar supplies a timely shuttle if you would like a ride. The walk down gives you a great opportunity to see squirrel, white faced and howler monkeys roaming the trees above. We also spotted a sloth with her baby, a boa constrictor and a toucan. The beach is private and nice with surprise visits from the monkeys. There are many restaurants right outside of Tulemar and the food is very good. Kapi Kapi, Agua Azul, Cafe Milagro and Victorias were some of our favorites. Kimberly is a great host and knows all of the tours and restaurants inside and out. Just tell her what you have in mind and she will provide all of the information you need to make a great choice. She then sets everything up hassel free. White water rafting and a tour with crocodile man were a ton of fun. The tour guides are really knowledgeable and made a novice white water rafter like myself feel completely safe. My girlfriend and myself had a dream vacation at Casa Panorama and can’t wait to get back!
“Casa Panorama Villa and Kimberly !”
We just got back from the best family vacation we have ever had! We spent 6 nights in Manuel Antonio , at Tulemar, Casa Panorama Villa, my husband, 11 year old son and myself!
The villa was wonderful, spacious for a 1 br, pullout sofa ,fantastic views, close to pool and walking distance to beautiful, private beach. Best boogie boarding ! We saw more monkeys, birds, iguana and sloth on the Tulemar property than we did in state park( which was beautiful)!
Kimberly , our concierge was fantastic! She made our trip! Every adventure, activity she set up for us was great! We really had the best of the best! We will definitely go back. Amanda; Atlanta, GA.
“Wonderful time at Casa Panorama”
We recently enjoyed a wonderful 6 nights at Casa Panorama South (lower unit). The property is very well equipped, extremely comfortable and has a balcony with great Ocean views. Tulemar Gardens was all we could have wished for – private beach, shuttle around the property, several swimming pools and monkeys to boot! Also perfect for our two little girls (6 and 4). Kimberly, the house manager at Casa Panorama was especially helpful and could not do enough to make our stay a successful one. We would recomend Casa Panorama to anyone looking to visit the Manuel Antonio region.
“Casa Panorama – Paradise”
A bit late in posting this review, but it has been on my mind since we left Casa Panorama. I want to make sure that I let other TA people out there know how perfect this place was, and how perfect everything was for us, when my family vacationed here in August of 2012.
First off, we were a family of 5 – 2 adults, 2 teens & 1 senior citizen. Casa Panorama provided us with more than enough space. It was very clean, spacious & very comfortable as well. The location was perfect & the views were breathtaking. Casa Panorama is truly, paradise.
Our concierge was Kimberly & she took care of us from the moment we landed in Costa Rica, until we left. She arranged for our transportation to & from the airport, arranged all of our tours and a private chef for one evening (highly recommended). I didn’t know Kimberly at all, though we did communicate frequently via e-mail before our trip, however, she is just so wonderful that you feel like you’ve known her all your life once you meet her. She truly takes care of all your needs, and goes out of her way to make sure everyone in your group is taken cared of. She even drove my senior citizen father in law to the bank & stores when he needed to go (though I don’t know if this was part of her job), and happily did so. She also was able to get me my prescription medication that I forgot to pack for our trip, she truly is a life saver. She still brings a smile to my face whenever I remember her.
Tulemar is close to so many restaurants, small shops & a famous coffee house (sorry, I can’t remember the name right now), once you get out of the entrance gate. They also provide a shuttle around the resort that can take you up to the entrance, the beach or back to your casa. Tulemar Beach was nice, and I truly enjoyed sipping on a pina colada while watching my kids & my husband body board.
As for wildlife, we saw some howler monkeys and of course, heard them as well. We also got lucky, because we spotted my favorite animal in the world, a Sloth! on a tree near our Casa. Unfortunately, we weren’t visited by Capuchin monkeys while we were there, but we got our fill when we went on the Mangrove Boat Tour. A few of them decided to join our group and jumped on our boat. We didn’t touch them, but they couldn’t keep their hands off of us. One even bit my son’s head while we were taking a picture of him standing on his shoulder – luckily, he didn’t break any skin – but the little guy was probably just curious & may have thought that my son’s head was a coconut (his head is shaved haha!). Another monkey decided to take off with one of my earrings, luckily I was able to save to other one for memories. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Another tour we did was the Manuel Antonio Nat’l Park Private Tour. It was again, a wonderful tour & we got to see a lot of Costa Rica’s wildlife and yes, some more Sloths! I just love those creatures 🙂 As for our teens, they really enjoyed the ATV Tour through some back roads and up to a mountain where we saw one of the most beautiful waterfalls we’ve even seen.
The only thing we regret is not staying longer, but we are definitely going back one day & will stay no where else, but at Casa Panorama.
“Great times at Tulemar”
We have just returned from another great vacation in sunny Costa Rica. We stayed at the beautiful Casa Panorama, Tulemar Resort .The view from our condo was amazing, beautiful views of the ocean and the most gorgeous sunsets. The sunsets were shared with good friends and good wine. We rented the upper and lower condo as there were 3 couples. This condo is great for sharing. You can be together yet you can have your own space.
Kimberley, our concierge was fantastic. Anything you needed she would provide. She did grocery shopping for us before we got there. We provided her with a list of groceries we needed and they were there when we arrived. She never led us astray when we would ask for advice about tours or great places to eat. It seemed that our wish was her command and we thank her for that. She was never farther than a phone call away and was always friendly and always had a smile to greet us.
They have a beautiful private beach where you have the free use of kayaks, boogie boards, chairs, towels and umbrellas. They are all provided with a smile. You can also purchase food and drinks. If you do not wish to go to the beach they have several beautiful pools. Vanessa and Patricia, who cleaned our condo, made sure that it was always spotless. Everyone at Tulemar was friendly and helpful and made our vacation fantastic.
Casa Panorama is awesome
This was our first stay at Tulemar. We have always stayed in hotels in Costa Rica so I was a little concerned about renting a house. As soon as we arrived, Kimberly, the house manager, met us at the door and guided us through the house. Casa Panorama South lives up to its name.
We had the upper 2 floors and the views were really unbelievable. The interior looked brand new and had every appliance you could want.. The sunsets from the decks were some of the best I have ever seen.
Casa Panorama is walking distance to many really good restaurants and a market that has food and alcohol. They have one of the nicest private beaches (not sure it if is private but you can’t get there from either side because of the high cliffs so since only the guests from Tulemar are there it is, in my view, private) they have tandem and single kayaks and also boogie boards that are free to use.
They have a bar and restaurant open for lunch right on the beach. Tulemar also has 2 or 3 really nice trails you can take down to the beach where we saw monkeys and lots of birds.
They have shuttle service inside Tulemar and a van will pick you up at the house and take you anywhere on the grounds. We used the van to go up from the beach. (down to the beach is an easy walk, but up is all up hill)
The family pool is a very short walk. We also used the van to take us up to the main road then it is a short walk to the restaurants. The best thing about the house was Kimberly. She manages the house and she was really great. I relied on her for restaurant advice and she set up great tours for us. She was always available and helpful.
I would highly recommend this house.
“Can’t wait to return and recommend to anyone visiting Costa Rica”
My girlfriend and I stayed at Casa Panorama South in July 2012 and had an absolute blast. We stayed in the lower 1 bedroom unit and could not have asked for a better place. It was a great jumping off point to explore Quepos and Manuel antonio. From the moment we booked to the time we had to leave early due to a family emergency back in the us Kimberly the house manager made our stay fantastic. She reached out early and offered a ton of information that made it easy to plan our trip to Costa Rica not only to Tulemar but also our trip to Costa Rica as a whole. She picked us up at the airport and gave us a tour of Quepos and Manual antonio before we even checked in. She walked us through the check in process and was always a phone call away… literally at anytime of the day. She really loves her job and the area and it shows through how she treats her guests. The rental also was amazing… the amenities, the fruit basket Kimberly provided and the resort itself is perfect. The rental unit was across from a pool with a bar/restaurant and it was a short walk down to the private beach with free kayaks, boogie boards, snorkle gear and also had a beach side restaurant and bar. The beach is perfect for swimming and the resort provides a shuttle to save you from the uphill work. Also the shuttle will bring you to the entrance of the resort where you can walk to a store and a lot of great restaurants. Kim also was a great resource for activities which are plentiful in the area. I recommend the rental to anyone planning a trip to Costa Rica and can’t wait to return. We were able to have a great time there and do everything we wanted without a rental car and a big part of that was because of Kimberley’s help.
